Meet The Staff

Fr. Dan Crosby serves as the Director of St. Anthony's. Fr. Dan is a native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and studied for the priesthood here at St. Anthony's when it was a house of studies for the Order. Over the years, he has fulfilled many duties for the Capuchins including formation, campus ministry, and teaching as well as service to the poor through the ministry programs of St. Benedict's in Milwaukee. His longest ministerial postings have been in the Native American Ministry of this province. Fr. Dan spent a cumulative 15 years in ministry with the Northern Cheyenne Indians in Montana. Fr. Tom Zelinski is a native of Menasha, Wisconsin. He has been a priest for 34 years. He has served on the staff of three different retreat centers for a total of 17 years, including 8 years earlier here at St. Anthony's. He has also served several years in a parish. He has also worked in formation work with younger members of the Capuchin Order as well as in high school campus ministry at St. Lawrence Seminary, Mt. Calvary, Wis. He serves at St. Anthony's as part of the preaching staff, in private spiritual direction, in helping at nearby parishes, and in "hosting," that is, connecting with the various groups who make use of St. Anthony's facilities. frtom@thecapuchins.org |

Joan Wilichowski was born and raised on a farm 2 miles west of Marathon. Joan has been at St. Anthony's for 37 years as our secretary. She resides in Marathon with her sister. Joan registers and welcomes our retreatants, attending to each detail to ensure a good stay for all of our guests. She is our main front-line person answering or routing our initial phone and e-mail inquiries. If you have a question or concern, Joanie can point you in the right direction! Ron Burclaff has been active in ministry at St. Anthony's for a number of years. He and his wife, Barb, have two grown daughters and three granddaughters. Ron brings St. Anthony's many years of experience in business. As Facilities Manager, Ron fills the role of assuring the environment of St. Anthony's is conducive to the spiritual refreshment of those who visit. Ron oversees maintenance, housekeeping, and purchasing. He also serves as a member of the preaching staff. rburclaff@sarcenter.com

Joyce Braunel is a life long resident of Marathon. Joyce and her husband, Dale have been married for 38 years and have 3 sons and 3 grandchildren. She is the director of promotions, bookstore manager and helps in the front office. Tom Vollrath has lived in central Wisconsin for over 35 years and has been with St. Anthony’s as the Food Service Manager since July of 2004. Along with his wife, Justeen, they have a daughter Elizabeth and sons Steven and Ryan and reside in Kronenwetter. Tom feels extremely fortunate to be working with a devoted staff and outstanding volunteers. Jain Skaar is the Director of Housekeeping.Jain was born and raised on a farm near Hixton Wisconsin (between LaCrosse and EauClaire). She moved to this area in the 70’s and worked for General Telephone Co. She is married and has 3 sons. Jain has worked at Montessori Children’s Village and at Children’s Service Society, Aspirus Hospital. Seven years ago she moved to the Marathon area and worked for Morgan Sand & Gravel, Inc. She considers it a blessing and one of God’s miracles that she was chosen to be part of Saint Anthony’s. jskaar@sarcenter.com |

Dale Braunel is the head of maintenance and grounds-keeping. A life-long resident of Marathon, he grew up in the shadow of St. Anthony's when it served as a seminary for the Capuchins. He is kept busy fixing up our old building with its plumbing and electrical demands, keeping the paths open in the woods, trimming trees and cutting the grass. Dale also still farms and is married to another staff person, Joyce Braunel. When he can find some spare time, Dale enjoys hunting and fishing. |
