Silent Theme Retreat 2009-2010

"When Worlds Collapse, What Can a Just Person Do?"

(Click title for flyer)

This question was asked thousands of years ago by the author of psalm 11. Many people ask the same question today. How does a just person, honestly struggling with faith and our economy, deal with all this upheaval? So many things we counted on just aren't there the way they used to be - like financial stability in our country (whatever happened to our pension plan?) or turst in our churchs (whatever happened to easy belief?). We're the questioning psalmist of today! Come with your questions to this retreat to discover the light, the hope that shines in the darkness. We're in this together!

Presented by the staff of St. Anthony's.

Begins with a 7:00 p.m. supper on Friday evening and ends with the noon meal on Sunday.

April 30-May 2 How does a just person, honestly struggling with faith and our economy, deal with all this upheaval?  Come with your questions to this retreat to discover the light, the hope that shines in the darkness.

We recognise that many parents would like to go on retreat but cannot find or afford someone to watch their children for an entire weekend. So we are inviting you to bring them with you. We will have adult supervision of the children during the talks and you can rejoin them inbetween and for meals. (There will be a separate dining room for those who wish to maintain a silent retreat).

NOTE: If you plan to bring your children the deadline for registration will be April 12 (sorry--no exceptions) so that we can find the appropriate number of adults for child supervision.

5-Day Summer Preached Retreat:

"To Pray As Jesus Prayed"

June 20-25

"Lord, teach us to pray!" Day after day, Peter and the disciples saw and somtimes heard Jesus praying. They saw his face glowf rom these encounters. They felt the strength and power these times gave him. How couuld they enter that same world and come to know that same peace in the midst of their storms? 'Lord teach us to pray!' We feel that same desire in our hearts. We want to pray; we've tried to pray, but feel there's still more waiting for us. This retreat builds on that desire and opens up all we can learn from Jesus' own example and teaching.

Preachers: Mary Testin & Fr. Dan Crosby

Offering: $375.00 ($75.00 per day)
